CLPA shows how one network is all you need at SPS Italia 2022

The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) will showcase its open industrial Ethernet technology, CC-Link IE TSN at SPS Italia – Smart Production Solutions. From 24th-26th May 2022, visitors to Hall 6, Stand G030 will be able to learn how CC-Link IE TSN forms the basis of convergence to create a single industrial automation network that connects entire facilities. This, in turn, allows the information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) worlds to be merged. Coupled with expanded support for the local industrial automation market, the CLPA offers a unique opportunity to boost the flexibility and efficiency of Italian manufacturing.

Expected to be one of the largest editions of Italy’s leading fair on smart manufacturing, the tenth SPS Italia is one that should not be missed. Its growth in 2022 is an accurate reflection of the state of the local industrial automation market, which grew by 10% from 2019 to 2021.1 The CLPA will exhibit on Stand G030, Hall 6 to highlight how the sector can further benefit from advanced connectivity, Alberto Griffini, CLPA’s latest appointment and leading Italian automation expert, will be on stand throughout the show. He will be available to discuss the latest initiatives to help device vendors and machine builders develop competitive solutions as well as how end users can benefit from cutting-edge technologies.

In particular, in line with the key topics of this year’s exhibition, District 4.0 and ‘Sustainability for industry’, the CLPA will present how to address both these aspects and improve operations by leveraging CC-Link IE TSN. This open industrial Ethernet is the first to combine gigabit bandwidth with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) functions to support convergent, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications.

By visiting the CLPA’s stand, attendees will be able to learn how CC-Link IE TSN can offer this by enabling real-time deterministic communications that form the foundation of convergence. As a result, companies can effectively facilitate data sharing on a single, unified network, supporting the merging of IT/OT while simplifying architectures, reducing costs and improving productivity.

Visitors will also be invited to explore the broad development ecosystem for CC-Link IE TSN, designed to remove any barriers to product development or upgrade. Furthermore, they will be able to look at how the technology is being implemented in fully operational automation devices by CLPA partners.

Alberto Griffini, Business Developer at CLPA Europe, says: “I am excited to be representing the CLPA at SPS Italia 2022. I look forward to discussing how I can help local businesses and work closely with device vendors to support them in the implementation of CC-Link IE TSN to deliver innovative Industry 4.0 applications and solutions. I would like to invite anyone interested in knowing more about this network technology and how it can advance your operations and portfolio to join us at the show.”

John Browett, General Manager of CLPA Europe, concludes: “SPS Italia is a must for the CLPA, and we are delighted to have a physical stand at this year’s edition to showcase our comprehensive support for local companies that want to create Connected Industries. CC-Link IE TSN represents the backbone of data-driven smart manufacturing by offering the level of convergence required to maximise transparency, availability, efficiency and productivity.”
